Folks, I do not joke when I beg that you do not use 2MHost for your web hosting needs. Either they’ve got a foreigner typing out support requests or someone’s not had grammer lessons over there. It takes forever to get a support request fulfilled. The claim to have 24/7 toll-free support, which they may very well have, but it’s hard to call when the number’s not on the website.
Also, they held out on transferring one of my domains to another registrar so that when it expired, I’d have to renew my plan with them instead… hosting and domain combined. Apparently, that’s the only way it could be done, according to ‘Lamia’ at tech support. Funny: I thought bologna tasted better than that…
When I say it takes forever I mean that my domain name was set to expire in 3 days, and it took them 2 and a half to even respond to my support ticket. (Note: Never let the host also administer the domain name.)
Well, they got their wish. I’ll pay the $30 to get my domain back, but I’m pulling my business from them, and I’ve already had to get a new domain name. The prices are good, but I’d rather pay a little more for prompt, local support.
I seem to be getting that kind of service from the same host Glenn Reynolds uses for Instapundit. I suppose time will tell…
